Troubleshooting

Sometimes Outlook's folders get corrupted and can't be opened. When that happens, you can often restore your Personal Folders file by using the Inbox Repair Tool, a utility that's on the Office 2000 CD-ROM. Despite the tool's name, it examines your Personal Folders file's structure and item headers, and attempts to recover all folders and items.

To run the Inbox Repair Tool, close Outlook, then choose Start in the Windows taskbar, move the pointer onto Programs, move the pointer onto accessories, move the pointer onto System Tools, and choose Inbox Repair Tool.
