Controlling How Outlook Starts

After you install Outlook 2000, click the Microsoft Outlook icon on the Windows desktop to start Outlook. What you see depends on whether you have previously had a version of Outlook installed on your computer and, if so, whether it was Outlook 97 or Outlook 98.

If you haven't previously had a version of Outlook installed on your computer, within a few seconds the Outlook Today window, similar to that shown previously in Figure 1.1, is displayed.
