Chapter 1. How Outlook Works > Displaying Items in Information Viewers

Displaying Items in Information Viewers

Outlook keeps each type of item in a separate folder within your Personal Folders file or within your Exchange store. For example, all your Calendar items are kept in a Calendar folder, all your Contact items are kept in a Contact folder, and so on.

Note

When you first run Outlook after it's been installed, sample items are automatically installed in most Outlook folders. If you install Outlook 2000 on a computer on which Outlook 97 or Outlook 98 has been used, Outlook 2000 recognizes all previously created Outlook items.
