Chapter 1. How Outlook Works > Choosing Windows Settings

Choosing Windows Settings

To use Outlook properly, you should make sure that certain Windows settings are set correctly:

  • Your monitor should have a resolution of 600 by 800 pixels or better in order to display Outlook's Information viewers and forms.

  • Outlook depends on your computer's real-time clock (RTC) in order to properly date- and time-stamp items, so you must make sure the clock is set correctly.

  • You should also make sure that Windows Regional Settings is correct, so that Outlook uses appropriate date and time formats. Having correct regional settings is particularly important if you use Outlook's calendar with two time zones.
