Automating Messaging

You can create rules to automate how Exchange deals with e-mail. For example, you can use a rule, known as the Out-of-Office Assistant, to deal with e-mail that arrives while you're not logged on to Exchange. You can use this rule to send an automatic response to the sender saying that you're out of the office until a certain date and will respond to the message when you return. Or, you can use the rule to automatically route the message to someone else.

You can use Exchange rules in many other ways. For example, you could create a rule that redirects a message in which a certain word or phrase is mentioned to another person.
