Displaying and Hiding the Outlook Bar

By default, Outlook displays the Outlook Bar at the left edge of all Information viewers (page 17), but it doesn't have to be displayed. Chapter 1, "How Outlook Works," contains information about modifying the Outlook startup so that an Information viewer is displayed without the Outlook Bar. This has the advantage that Information viewers are enlarged so that you can see more of what's in them.
