Command Bars in the Default User Interface

The default Outlook user interface has a menu bar at the top and a single toolbar under the menu bar, as shown in Figure 34.1.

Unlike Outlook 97, the menu bar in Outlook 2000 contains the same menus for all the Information viewers that display Outlook items—with only one slight difference when an Information viewer that displays Windows folders is open. Many of the items in the menus are also the same. Many of the tools in the toolbars, however, are different for each Information viewer because the tools provide quick access to various types of Outlook items.
