Reviewing Outlook's Built-in Forms

Unlike Word and Excel, which let developers create a new document or worksheet from scratch, the Outlook form designer restricts developers to creating customized forms based on one of the standard Outlook forms. In the Outlook interface, the available forms are displayed in the New Object drop-down list, shown in Figure 40.1.

Tip

The order of forms in the drop-down list changes with the current Outlook folder. The default form for that folder is at the top of the list, and you can click on the icon heading the list (just to the left of the word "New") to create a new instance of the default form without dropping down the list.
