About the Authors

Gordon Padwick is a consultant who specializes in Microsoft Office applications and Visual Basic. In addition to training and supporting Office users, Gordon develops custom applications based on the Office suite. He has been working with computers for more years than he cares to remember in engineering, management, support, and marketing positions, and has been using Windows since Microsoft introduced the first version some twelve years ago.

Gordon has authored and contributed to many books about Windows and other PC-based applications, including Special Edition Using Microsoft Office 97 Professional, Microsoft Office 97 User Manual, Special Edition Using Microsoft Outlook 97, Building Integrated Office Applications, Using Microsoft Outlook 98, Platinum Edition Using Microsoft Office 97, and Platinum Edition Using Microsoft Office 2000.

He is a graduate of London University, has completed postgraduate studies in computer science and communications, and is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Gordon currently lives in southern California.

Helen Feddema has a B.S. in philosophy from Columbia and an M.T.S. in theological studies from Harvard Divinity School. She was an Access 1.0 beta tester and has worked as a developer of Microsoft Office applications, concentrating on Access, Word, and Outlook.

Helen has been a co-author of or contributor to more than ten books since 1992 including Que's Special Edition Using Microsoft Outlook 97and Special Edition Using Microsoft Project 98.She also has been a regular contributor to Pinnacle's Smart Access and Office Developerjournals, Woody's Underground Officenewsletter, PC Magazine's Undocumented Office and the MS Office and VBA Journal. As well, Helen recently contributed articles to Smart Access, and Woody's Office Watch e-zine.

She is an MVP on the WOPR Lounge, a threaded discussion group devoted to Microsoft Office. And, Helen's Web page (http://www.ulster.net/~hfeddema) features a large selection of code samples concentrated on connecting Access, Outlook, Word, and Excel. She lives in the mid-Hudson area of New York state, with three cats and three computers.
