Basic Editing

To enter text in a new or existing document, just start typing in the editing window. If the text doesn't appear, make sure that Word is the active application by clicking anywhere in the Word window.

A blinking vertical line, the insertion point, is displayed in your document at the location where your text will appear. As you type, your words are placed to the left of the insertion point as the insertion point moves to the right. You can move the insertion point by clicking elsewhere in the editing window.
