Using Microsoft Organization Chart 2.0

One of the most dreaded assignments any white-collar worker can get is to draw up a new organization chart. Trying to keep all the boxes and lines straight with Word's regular drawing tools can be challenging at best. Office 2000 includes a program designed to address the problem: Organization Chart 2.0. Aside from organization charts, you can also use the program to create any diagram that requires a hierarchical structure.

From within Word, choose Insert, Object and then choose MS Organization Chart 2.0 to begin the process. Figure 29.53 shows the opening screen of the program with its beginning template. Highlight any text and replace it to begin constructing your chart. When you click in any of the existing boxes, two additional comment areas appear in the same box, <Comment 1> and <Comment 2>. You can click in either one and start typing.
