Chapter 21. Drawing in Word > Adding Depth to Your Graphics

Adding Depth to Your Graphics

Word 2000 includes two effective tools to make your graphics appear to leap off the page. Any drawing object—including lines, freeform drawings, or clip art—can now cast a shadow, in almost any direction and any color. Shadows help separate a graphic from its background on the page. The second depth-defying tool enables all drawing objects (with the exception of clip art) to extend into the third dimension; it's appropriately called 3D. Both tools are available through the Drawing toolbar.

Caution

You can't apply shadowing and 3D to the same object. If you apply a shadow effect to an object formatted as 3D, the shadow replaces the 3D effect.
