Planning an Automated Solution in Word 2000

Up to this point you've been learning the language of VBA. Now you should be comfortable with concepts like objects, properties, and methods. You should also have had some experience working with the various VBA statements and be able to declare variables, add logical control, display message boxes, and so on. The question that is probably before you now is, "How do I build a solution from scratch?"

Before you start automating a task or process, you should understand the requirements for that task or process, and the benefits that can be gained through automation. By evaluating the requirements, you can determine the degree of automation that you need, and the approach the design should take. Some of the important design features you should consider are
