In previous Office versions, saving a file to a Web server meant using the Web Publishing Wizard, a separate utility that required several intermediate steps before you could be certain your page was properly published. In Office 2000, the process is considerably simpler. You can open and save files in any format directly to a Web server, simply by entering its URL. For example, you can open a Web page (or an Office-compatible document) directly in an application window (such as Word) by using a variety of techniques:
Type the URL directly into the Open dialog box.
In the Open dialog box, click the Favorites icon, and then double-click an Internet shortcut from the Favorites list (or use an Internet shortcut stored in any other folder, for that matter).
Copy the URL from your Web browser's Address box and paste it into the File Name box.
