Chapter 31. Sharing Schedules and Planni... > Responding to Meeting Requests

Responding to Meeting Requests

When you receive a meeting invitation via email, it resembles an ordinary message, with the following key differences:

  • The Meeting Request icon to the left of the invitation in the message list is different.

  • The message header shows the sender's name, Required and Optional attendees, and the location and time of the meeting.

  • The default toolbar contains three extra buttons that allow you to Accept the Invitation or Decline to Attend. Click the Tentative button when you think you can make it, but you're not ready to commit.

  • Click the Calendar button to open your Calendar folder and display the date and time of the proposed meeting. This option lets you check the rest of your schedule before you decide how to respond to an invitation.
