Chapter 46. Publisher for Office Experts > Key Components of Publisher

Key Components of Publisher

You'll find that Publisher works best for you in two situations:

  • Publisher is handy when you need to create a no-frills, custom document that does not require a lot of heavy text editing or manipulation, such as small newsletters, calendars, banners, greeting cards, and gift certificates.

  • Publisher can also be helpful when you need to create a final output document consisting of work completed in other applications within the suite. For example, you might use Word to compose and edit several articles for a newsletter; Excel to generate a bar chart from regional sales data; and Access to create a report identifying key accounts that have been successful throughout the year. You could then pull all these pieces together into a single Publisher document, output color separations, and then shuffle the whole thing off to a print shop.
