Chapter 47. Creating and Managing Comple... > Flowing Text Files Between Frames

Flowing Text Files Between Frames

Publisher 2000 allows you to orchestrate long publications that involve many text and graphic files, woven into a single publication. For example, a catalog might combine many text files that have descriptions prepared by the sales department, as well as images from the art department. Each text file can be placed in its own frame in a Publication, as can each image file. Assigning a distinct frame or group of linked frames to a text file facilitates laying out and editing large publications.

Portions of an article that cannot fit into existing frames are stored in the Overflow Area where they are held until you create new frames. You cannot see or edit text in the Overflow Area, but it is stored there waiting to be poured into text frames.
