Chapter 47. Creating and Managing Comple... > Using Advanced Printing Features

Using Advanced Printing Features

Your printing challenges become more complex when you are preparing a publication for commercial printing, or even for back-to-back duplication at your office copier. You may need to lay out folded pages, which require complicated page-numbering arrays. You can create a professional-looking training manual or sales presentation in your office by designing a publication using folded and stapled pages.

Beyond publishing issues, complex publications frequently require elements such as headers, footers, or other common elements that appear on every page. You can include nonprinting components on every page, such as ruler or column guides, to create a framework for uniform design elements. Both printing and nonprinting elements can be incorporated throughout a publication by placing them in Background Pages.
