Creating a New Table

Although you can begin creating a new table in an Access database in several ways, ultimately all roads lead to one of a handful of destinations:

  • Click the Tables button in the Objects pane at the left of the database window, then click the New icon in the toolbar at the top of the window. The New Table dialog box (see Figure 41.4) offers five choices, including a wizard to import or link data from tables in another location.

  • To save a few clicks, use any of the three choices at the top of the Tables group in the database window. These choices enable you to create a table by using a wizard or by going directly to Design view or Datasheet view.
