Troubleshooting

Take Printing to the Edge

You want to print all the way to the edge of each sheet, but your text doesn't reach the edge of the paper. Word tells you you've gone outside the printable area. On some printers, Word won't let you print to the edge, even though you know it's possible.

Most printers require a small amount of white space at the top and left side of each sheet. LaserJet printers, for example, can't print any closer than a quarter of an inch; they need the extra room to hold the paper down. If you try to set margins smaller than 0.25 inch when using a LaserJet, you see a warning message.
