Nobody knows everything there is to know about Microsoft Office 2000—it's simply too big, too diverse, for one mind (or even two) to absorb all the details in their entirety. So when we hit a snag, we turned to some of the top experts in their fields. Al Gordon helped us sort out the details of application interaction. Doug Hergert and Susan Cohen made sense of Access (no small accomplishment!). David Karlins contributed much-needed expertise to the Publisher section. Brady P. Merkel and Ben Milstead lent their considerable Web-building skills to the FrontPage section, with an able assist from Kelly Murdock in the chapter that covers PhotoDraw.

Susan Daffron came up with the outstanding "Three Dog Delight" sample files. The WOPR programming team—Mike Craven, Claude Almer, Vince Chen, Scott Krueger, and Eileen Wharmby—contributed their school of (very) hard knocks advice. Doug Klippert gave us the ultimate backup, with his outstanding technical edits. Dozens of people at Microsoft—designers, developers and, yes, even PR people—helped with their insight, comments, and explanations. And the many loyal readers of PC Computing and Woody's Office Watch provided the complaints and questions that inspired our pull-no-punches style.
