Excel offers multiple ways to manage information and add up information in a list. Consider the two methods used here. The first, shown in Figure 18.26, sums up individual cells by selecting the cells. This technique is inefficient and time-consuming. Now look at the formula in Figure 18.27. By using a SUM(IF formula, you can type the project state in cell D3, and the total tonnage will be extracted automatically.
