Changing the Information Displayed on a Database Icon

Database icons can provide information, such as the number of unread documents that are contained in the database (that is, documents that you have not read), the name of the database, and where you can find the database (on the Domino server or on your hard drive, "on local"). To select icon display information, consult the following:

  • To display the number of unread documents, choose View, Show Unread from the menu.

  • To display the location of the database, choose View, Show Server Names. If the database is on your server, your server name appears on the icon. If the database is on your hard drive (likely if you are a remote or mobile user),On Local appears on the icon as its location.

  • To display the file name of the database, hold down the Shift key while selecting View, Show Server Names. This turns off the server name and displays the filename.

  • To display both the location of the database and the filename, hold down the b key while selecting View, Show ServerNames.
