Chapter 5. Printing Worksheets > Changing the Default Printer

Changing the Default Printer

Microsoft Office 97 applications, including Excel, always print to the default printer. In some situations, you may have more than one printer available, and you can select which printer is the default. For example, if you work in an office and are hooked up to a network, you may be able to select which network printer you want to use. If you work at home, you may have a printer and a computer fax machine. Your computer treats the fax machine like a printer; to fax something, you select the fax as a printer source and to print a worksheet, you select the printer.

You can control which printer you use in the Print dialog box (see Figure 5.5). In this dialog box, you'll find controls for determining which printer to use, as well as other printing options.
