Preview a Worksheet

When you are working in a worksheet, you see only a small part of the sheet in the Excel window. You can't tell how the whole page looks or how the fonts and sizes will appear on the printed page. In Excel's preview mode, you see a full-page view of the file. You can examine how each worksheet page looks before ever committing a single piece of data to paper.

To open Excel's Preview window, click the Print Preview button on the Standard toolbar, or choose File, Print Preview. The Preview window appears, as shown in Figure 5.1. You can click any of the toolbar buttons on the Preview toolbar to adjust your preview of the worksheet. Table 5.1 explains each of the Preview buttons and their function.
