Using Business Analysis Tools

Using the business analysis tools is straightforward. You need to understand, however, that you have two ways of running the analysis. The first is to conduct the analysis interactively while running a spreadsheet. The second is to run the analysis from a macro using a line of Visual Basic code to script which form of the analysis to run. To run an analysis interactively, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Tools menu.

  2. Select the Data Analysis option.

  3. In the Data Analysis dialog box, select the type of analysis you want to undertake (see Figure 22.3). (You'll learn more about the analysis tools later in the chapter.)

  4. Click the OK button.
