Navigating Shortcuts

Excel offers many ways to save yourself time as you move around a worksheet:

  • One way to save time when using a mouse is to utilize Excel's many shortcut menus. You can right-click to display a shortcut menu. Like the toolbars, shortcut menus display commonly-used commands that relate to the item you're currently working on. For example, if you right-click a selected cell, a menu appears displaying commands related the the item you clicked.

  • Excel's Go To command can speedily locate the cell you want to view. For example, if you're currently viewing the bottom of a long worksheet and need to view the contents of cell D13, press F5 and type D13 in the Reference text box, then press Enter. Excel immediately takes you to cell D13 and selects the cell.
