Sharing Data Between Excel and Word

Word and Excel are probably the two most commonly used applications in Office 97 and are common candidates for sharing data using OLE. Because you can use both applications as both servers and clients, you can embed and link objects from either application into the other.

Using Word Objects in an Excel Workbook

Word provides two object types that you can embed in Excel or any other OLE-aware application. The most commonly used object is a Word document. As you might expect, a Word Document object contains all the normal word processing features of Microsoft Word. You will find that using the Word Document object in your Excel workbooks is especially useful when you need large passages of formatted text because the object enables you to use Word's advanced formatting features.
