Working with Shared Templates

A great timesaving feature of Excel is the ability to use shared templates. A template is a spreadsheet with formatting, styles, and frequently used text already applied. Each new worksheet you create is based on a template. Because styles and text are already built-in, you aren't "reinventing the wheel."

The settings saved in a template determine the characteristics of any new workbook based on the template.
