Online Forms in Excel 97

In Microsoft Excel 97, you can develop two basic types of online forms-one for use on your own local system and another for use on a corporate intranet or World Wide Web site. In fact, you can use the same basic form for both purposes, and both types are covered in this chapter.

In either case, Excel creates a new template, based on your form, for users to fill out online, and a separate workbook for use as a database. This database is an ordinary Excel file, with each column in the first worksheet serving as a field and with one record per row. By inserting additional worksheets, you can analyze and manipulate the data that has been collected when people enter data using the form.
