Accessing Microsoft Query

If you plan to use Microsoft Query to query your database, begin your data request in the same manner as you would if you were using the Query Wizard. First, make a note of the file name and location of your data. Next, take a few minutes to think about what you want from your data. Determine the exact elements that describe the information you wish to cull from your database. Then follow these steps:

If you find that Microsoft Query is not installed on your computer, you can install the software by following the instructions set out in the section "Installing Microsoft Query," at the beginning of Chapter 16.
