Working with Time-Scale Axes

A new feature in Excel 97 gives you the ability to more easily work with data that uses time as its category axis. When you chart data that uses time or dates for the category axis, Excel automatically sorts the data using the time or dates so that they are in chronological order on the chart. You can also change other settings for time-based category axes. Access the Format Axis dialog box by double-clicking the time-based axis, and then clicking the Scale tab, shown in Figure 11.23.
