Rearranging Slides in Slide Sorter View

Slide Sorter view shows miniature versions of the slides in your presentation. This enables you to view many of your slides at one time. To rearrange slides in Slide Sorter view, perform the following steps:

  1. Switch to Slide Sorter view by selecting View, Slide Sorter, or clicking the Slide Sorter button on the status bar.

  2. Move the mouse pointer over the slide you want to move.

  3. Hold down the left mouse button, and drag the mouse pointer over the slide before or after which you want to insert the slide. As you drag the mouse pointer, a line appears (as shown in Figure 10.1), showing where you are moving the slide.

Figure 10.1. Switch to Slide Sorter view.

    Warning

Destination Not in View? If you have more than six slides in your presentation, you may not be able to see the slide's destination on-screen. Don't worry. Just drag the slide in the direction of the destination, and the display will scroll in that direction.

  4. Release the mouse button. PowerPoint places the slide in its new position and shifts the surrounding slides to make room for the new slide.
