A Look at PowerPoint's Application Window

If you created a new presentation using the AutoContent Wizard or a template, your screen looks something like the screen shown in Figure 3.1. This screen contains many of the same elements you find in any Windows 95 or Windows NT program: a title bar, window control buttons (Minimize, Maximize, and Close), and a menu bar. For an explanation of these elements, refer to the "The Windows Primer" at the back of this book.

In addition, you see three toolbars and several windows that are unique to PowerPoint. The following sections explain how to work with these unique items.
