Lesson 12. Creating Columns and Lists > Making a Bulleted List

Making a Bulleted List

When you enter new slides in Outline view, the default layout is a simple bulleted list. If you've done this (see Lesson 9), you've already created a bulleted list. However, you can also create one in a text box that you add to a slide yourself, without relying on an AutoLayout. Just follow these steps to change some regular text in a text box to a bulleted list:

  1. Click inside the paragraph you want to transform into a bulleted list, or select one or more paragraphs.

  2. Select Format, Bullet. The Bullet dialog box appears.

    Tip

Quick Bullets To bypass the Format menu and Bullet dialog box, simply click the Bullet button on the Formatting toolbar to insert a bullet, or right-click and select Bullet from the shortcut menu. You can click on the Bullet button again to remove the bullet.

  3. Select the Use a Bullet check box to enable bullet use.

  4. Click OK. PowerPoint transforms the selected text into a bulleted list. (If you press Enter at the end of a bulleted paragraph, the next paragraph starts with a bullet.)
