Using the Function Wizard

Although you can type a function directly into a cell just as you can type formulas, you may find it easier to use the Function Wizard. The Function Wizard leads you through the process of inserting a function. The following steps walk you through using the Function Wizard:

  1. Select the cell in which you want to insert the function. (You can insert a function by itself or as part of a formula.)

  2. Type = or click the Edit Formula button on the Formula bar. The Formula Palette appears, as shown in Figure 16.3.

  3. Select the function you want to insert from the Functions list by clicking the Functions button (see Figure 16.3). If you don't see your function listed, select More Functions at the bottom of the list.
