Customizing Your Chart with the Chart Toolbar

You can use the Chart toolbar to change how your chart looks. If the Chart toolbar is not displayed, you can turn it on by opening the View menu, selecting Toolbars, and then selecting Chart. Table 22.1 shows each button on the Chart toolbar and explains its purpose.

ButtonNameUse
Chart ObjectsClick here to select the part of the chart you want to change. Or, you can simply click the part it self.
Format ObjectClick here to change the formatting of the object whose name appears in the Chart Objects text box.
Chart TypeClick the arrow to change the chart type, from bar to line, for example. If you click the button itself, the displayed chart type will be applied.
LegendClick this to display or hide the legend.
Data TableClick here to add a data table (a grid which displays the data from which the chart was created).
By RowClick here if your data series are stored in rows.
By ColumnClick here if your data series are stored in Columns.
Angle Text UpwardClick here to angle text in selected area upward.
