Editing a Web Document

You can use Word to edit existing Web documents in HTML format. When you open an HTML document, it is converted into Word format. When you save it, the document is converted back to HTML format. To open an HTML document for editing:

  1. Select File, Open or click the Open button on the Standard toolbar to display the Open dialog box.

  2. Click the Files of Type drop-down arrow and select HTML Document from the list.

  3. Select the desired file in the Files list.

  4. Select OK. The document will be displayed for editing.

  5. Use Word's regular editing commands to make changes to the document.

  6. Select File, Save or click the Save button on the Standard toolbar. The document will automatically be saved in HTML format.
