Creating a Web Document

You can save any Word document in HTML format, which permits it to be used on the Web. You create and edit the document using the usual Word techniques, arranging text and graphics to appear on-screen as you want. When you save the document as an HTML file, Word converts the formatting in the document to the HTML codes required to reproduce the same or a similar appearance. However, not all Word formatting can be converted to HTML codes. This means that the final HTML document may not look exactly like the original Word document.
