Lesson 15. Using AutoCorrect and AutoText > AutoCorrect versus AutoText

AutoCorrect versus AutoText

You may have realized that you can use AutoCorrect to perform the task of AutoText, at least for inserting text. (AutoCorrect cannot insert graphics.) Thus, if your name is Heironymous J. Whipplesnapper, you could define an AutoCorrect entry "hjw" to automatically insert your name. The major difference is that AutoCorrect entries are inserted automatically, whereas AutoText entries require user confirmation.

This lesson showed you how to use Word's AutoText and AutoCorrect features. The next lesson covers automatic formatting.
