Lesson 27. Revision Marks and Multiple Versions > Setting Revision Mark Options

Setting Revision Mark Options

Word lets you control the way that revised text is marked. To set these options:

  1. Select Tools , Track Changes, Highlight Changes to open the Highlight Changes dialog box (refer to Figure 27.1).

  2. Click the Options button to open the Track Changes dialog box (see Figure 27.2).

  3. There are four types of changes Word can mark: inserted text, deleted text, changed formatting, or changed lines. To specify the type of mark used for each type of change, click the Mark drop-down arrow in the corresponding section of the dialog box and select the mark from the list. Select (none) if you do not want this type of change marked.

  4. For each type of change, click the Color drop-down arrow and select the color to be used from the list. If you select By Author , Word will automatically assign a different color to each of as many as eight reviewers. If you select a specific color, all changes will be marked with that color regardless of who made them.

  5. Select OK.
