Applying Special Font Effects

Word has a number of special font effects that you can use. These include superscript and subscript, strikethrough, and several graphics effects such as shadow and outline. You can also specify that text be hidden, which means it will not display on-screen or be printed. To assign special font effects to selected text or text you are about to type:

  1. Click Format, Font to open the Font dialog box (refer to Figure 9.1).

  2. In the Effects area, select the effects you want. To remove an effect, deselect the check box. The Preview box shows you what the selected effects will look like.

  3. Select OK.
