What You Need to Know About Displaying Formulas and Equations

Word comes with an Equation Editor that enables you to easily create publishable equations in a document. You insert as an object an equation created with the Equation Editor in your document, just as you can insert pictures, graphs, and spreadsheet tables (see Figure 24.3). To edit the equation, you must reopen the Equation Editor; you cannot edit the equation from within Word. You can, however, position and resize an equation from within a Word document, as with any object.
