Using Bookmarks to Perform Calculations in Text

To perform calculations on numbers scattered throughout a document, and to allow the results of a calculation to be updated if any of the numbers change, you need to use bookmark names and fields. Bookmarks are used to name a location. You must use two steps to perform math on numbers placed throughout a document:

  • Mark the location of numbers in the text by assigning bookmark names to them.

  • Enter a field code that calculates the mathematical result.
