Using Outlook with Word

Microsoft Office 97 includes a new and exciting application called Microsoft Outlook. Outlook is a productivity tool that helps you manage the resources on your desktop, as well as your e-mails, contacts, appointments, and tasks. You can schedule meetings and appointments with Outlook's group scheduling and even share resources (including files and folders) with other users. If you are connected to the Internet or an intranet, you can use Outlook to browse these resources. In short, Outlook helps you to pull together all your information, both personal and shared, making it much easier to manage and view this information.

It is not within the scope of this book to discuss how to use Microsoft Outlook. In this section, however, you learn some of the ways you can use Outlook with Word. To learn more about using Outlook, see the online help in Outlook.
