Choosing to Paste, Link, or Embed Data

You can look at the various methods of exchanging data in many different ways: you can evaluate whether the source of the data is a file or an active application; you can evaluate whether you are exchanging text or graphic data; or you can evaluate which of the different procedures you can use.

Note

This chapter includes references to source and destination documents. The source is the file on disk or document in an open application that supplies data. The destination is the document that receives the data.
