Using the Thesaurus

When you're not sure of a word's meaning, when you think you're using a certain term too often, or when you can't come up with the right word, take advantage of the Word 97 thesaurus. It defines selected words and offers alternative terms (synonyms). For example, Word 97 synonyms for the word information include intelligence, data, and facts.

The thesaurus looks up one word at a time. You can specify the word by selecting it. Otherwise, the thesaurus looks up the word that the insertion point indicates. If the insertion point is within a word, the thesaurus looks up that word. If the insertion point is outside a word, the thesaurus looks up the word preceding the insertion point.
