Chapter 14. Publishing to a Web > Publishing with Word's Web Page Authoring Too...

Publishing with Word's Web Page Authoring Tools

Microsoft's Web page authoring tools in Word enable you to use your Word skills to develop fully functional Web pages. You don't need to know how to write Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) the code used to create Web pages. With many of the same commands you use in Word you can insert and format text, graphics, and hyperlinks to create your own Web pages.

Web page authoring tools are not available when you work in a Word document. They become available only when an HTML document is active. You can open an existing HTML document, open a new blank HTML document, or use the Web Page Wizard to guide you through the process of creating a Web page.
