Viewing Documents and File Information

Even though a file might have a descriptive name, you may not be able to figure out what that file contains. If you are uncertain about a particular file, you can display additional information about it. For example, you can display a detailed view of the file, which lists the file size and date; these details might help you recognize the file. Or you can display a quick view of the document contents. Finally, you can display a document's properties.

Viewing file information and previewing files can help you manage your documents. For example, you can preview a file before you open or print it so that you know you are working with the right document. Or, you can view file information to find out which is the most recent version of a document on which you have been working.
