Chapter 13. Formatting the Page Layout, ... > Inserting a Date and Time

Inserting a Date and Time

In Word, there are several ways to insert the date and time automatically. You can use a command to insert the current date and time as frozen—that is, the date and time do not change—or you can insert them as a field that you can update to reflect the current date and time. You can choose among many different date and time formats. Or you can include a date and time field in a header or footer. These fields also update to reflect the current date or time.
